Hello, and Welcome to my efolio! Inside you will find all sorts of neat information about what I have accomplished in my three years as a Masters of Public Health student at San Francisco State. I have two primary areas of interest: Disaster Preparedness and Tobacco Prevention.
My professional life in healthcare-based emergency management has inspired me to champion the interests of all people in disaster situations, not just those who are mobile and have the means to prepare, prevent and respond. Personal preparedness for those with special needs is an emerging field, and one that I am very excited to be a part of. I am interested in finding ways to enhance public awareness with strategies that center around the following considerations: "What would you do if the world as we know it came to a sudden, earth-shattering change? Are you ready for the next big earthquake? Pandemic Flu? Do you have a plan?” My personal experiences with the consequences of smoking have made me extraordinarily passionate about tobacco prevention. I struggle daily with the human and social costs of smoking in the United States. If you have any questions about my work, or would like to know more, please feel free to contact me.
